We have $2.00 per hour meters in DC.

I think the big thing is that we have a lot of underground garages providing alternatives to using on-street parking, as well as a major transit system that provides a different alternative.

Also, I think the price they're charging might be too low since the spaces fill up quickly. From what you mentioned, Champaign might be charging too much.

I'm confused why DC parking is $1/hr, while Champaign, IL parking (which is plentiful and doesn't really need to be metered) is between 75c/hr and $1.50/hr.

I would have figured that parking would be significantly cheaper in a corn field than in the capital of the USA, but I guess I was wrong.
